Prompt library

Prompt templates for everyday tasks. Replace the parts in square brackets, then copy the prompt or open it in the chat with one click.

A prompt is simply the message you give Grok, but the way you phrase it changes the answer a lot. "Write an email" produces something generic; "write a short, friendly email to my neighbour asking to borrow a ladder on Saturday" produces something you can send. The prompts in this library are written in that second style. Each one names the task, the context and the format, and leaves gaps in square brackets for your own details.

How to use a prompt

  1. Choose a category below and find a prompt that fits your task.
  2. Press Use this prompt to open it in the chat, or copy it if you want to edit it first.
  3. Replace everything in [square brackets] with your own information. The more specific you are, the better the result.
  4. Read the answer and ask a follow-up: shorter, more formal, with an example, as a table. Small corrections often work better than starting over.

Categories

You will find prompts for writing, study, coding, business, marketing, career, creative projects and everyday life. Every prompt works with all three Grok models in our chat. For tasks that need careful step-by-step thinking, such as a study plan with many constraints or a tricky bug, try Grok 4.3 or Grok 4.7.

Write your own

Once you have used a few templates, you will notice the pattern: who the answer is for, what you need, what to avoid and what shape the result should take. Our guide Grok prompts that work explains that pattern with good and bad examples. If you reuse the same instructions often, save them as an assistant so you do not have to paste them every time.
